The rib goes marching two by two

I really can’t tell you much about this one.

It’s made from gifted stash yarn, in 2×2 rib, until I used up the ball.

It is pretty though. And because the yarn changes weights it looks really specky.

But it’s a simple rib which took no time at all.
Just like this blog post.
Which is good because life has been manic this week and I’m out the door again!!!
Have a good weekend everyone!

That’s the thing about football

Sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn’t.
The only thing we can do as supporters is go to the games, support our club, and cheer on our side. And have a great time doing it.

Bridgetown adventures with Hipstamatic (and food)

This is a picture heavy post.

Can you tell I’m missing being on holidays??

These are adventures at Ford House (which i thought was a little overrated, but everyone else oohed and aahed over everything. I thought the grounds were really pretty and went to town with hipstamatic).

There’s also the caravan covered in newspaper print that was camped next to us.

And the fish pie from the Cidery. We had a pretty awesome taste of some ciders (they make them all on site), and some handcrafted beers (which were yummy) before a tasting plate and a main meal. Their salmon pate was divine. By the end we were liking it with our fingers.

Really missing camping now.

Stuck in my head – The Silents

I always have this song in my head.
That riff is so catchy and it has (in my own obviously bias opinion) one of the best guitar solos written.
I think this song is pretty close to perfection. Which is a big call. But it’s my opinion and I’m owning it.

Bridgetown Adventures (pt 2) Nannup

I love going through photos after a holiday. I can reminisce and think about the good times. But also so close to the event I can remember all the things we said we’d do better next time.

Next camping trip we are not taking as much food.
This will be great as its one less thing for me to plan, but it’s also means spending money on local produce and wasting less food.

I don’t know why we hadn’t thought like this sooner.

And we have another place on the ‘to stay’ list. We did a day trip to Nannup and it was lovely. Full of little churches, interesting craft stores, and a good pub.
In fact the beef and gravy roll was a highlight. It came the day after I had burnt my mouth quite severely on a very hot honey carrot (to the point where it peeled most of the skin off and is now blistering 6 days later), but it just hit the spot I could eat it without too much pain.
Nannup was very pretty and I’d like to spend a little more time there in future.

Bridgetown adventures

Some photos from our 5 day holiday.
We stayed at the caravan park which is beautifully situated on the Blackwood River.
These are photos of our home for the last 5 days.

Oh it was really good to get away. I really want to get away again soon. 20120430-093548.jpg20120430-093624.jpg20120430-093645.jpg20120430-093747.jpg20120430-093804.jpg20120430-093822.jpg20120430-101128.jpg

I have no voice to speak of

Well the weekend got off to a bang when I made another hairpin skirt.
Then a yarn sale! Spotlight had all their yarn reduced so I picked up some more sock yarn (you can never have enough sock yarn!) and some Moda Vera Shiver in green.
Then it was back home to watch the football (port had a pretty dismal loss – with a very sickening injury in the last 30 seconds), and then go out to watch the football. The hawks – eagles game was very strange. And hawks lost which really sucked.
But at least it stopped raining after the girl next to me bought a $5 poncho. She was not impressed.

Then Sunday was spent In The Pines.
RTRfm is Perths community radio station, and they do a lot to promote local music. And in particular bands that wouldn’t otherwise have a voice.
And it was a tops way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
Lieing on a picnic blanket with a couple (ok three) bottles of wine, some good music and great company.
In particular I think it might have been a first for a couple of the heavy metal bands to have someone knitting in their audience.

Dancing like a mad person to San Cisco, swooning at the sexy violin playing of The Kill Devil Hills, and rocking out to Sugar Army were the highlights of a wonderful day. Very impressed with the way it was organised and looking forward to going along next year. 20120423-130148.jpg
