Today just wont end will it.
I really want to get home – into some cosy clothes and blog. Tumblr is quickly becoming addictive… WordPress will still have my serious stuff but to pretend im a teenage fangirl (as opposed to a twenty-something fangirl) its quite cathartic.
I guess i just want to be creative – or have the chance to be creative which just hasnt happened at work today…
I feel like i want something more …

And at the moment tumblrs sense of community is really attractive… Im probably doing it all wrong but its a place to post all my quirks and thoughts without spamming facebook – tumblr people dont have to follow me…
Hah wordpressing about tumblr – i think this officially turns me into an internet nerd…
But i always was – ive been blogging in one form or another for 10 years… Designing websites, making graphics, copying quotes – only difference was i did all the code from scratch and was hosted by geocities (i wonder if that still exists somewhere – all the stories etc)
I just want to finish work so i can be creative.

I love living by myself
I love cooking without worrying about other peoples tastes
I love being able to lounge in my pj’s straight after work
I love being able to watch my reality trash (projectrunway, top chef, come dine with me) without being judged
I love not having to talk to anyone…
I love my lifestyle… Just as it is…

is it friday yet?

I got my box set of how i met your mother yesterday and i really want to watch it…
But this week has been such a disaster i havent had a chance.
I want it to be friday
1) because fridays are usually awesome
2) because i’ll have my house to myself
3) i’ll be able to stop thinking about how to solve work problems and just think about solving life problems…

Real life can be tricky sometimes – which is another reason i want to sink into tv-land.

boys and their bbqs

well the last two nights have been a bbq affair.
monday night was hotdogs as we were watching several NFL games and was getting into the spirit of things. It was more of an aussie snausage snizzle really but the thought was there… Even if a vikings win wasn’t – and the bears had a bye week so it really was nothing to write home about…
But i got to wear my new Petersen Guernsey that i bought on the weekend… He had a good game – pity our quarterback didn’t.

but last night my boy had a hankering for some kebabs – i had some chicken already in the fridge so we marinated that with some oil and barbeque seasoning (thanks 5 ingrediant fix’s Claire Robinson for the idea!) and then he strung them onto skewers with mushrooms, capsicum, and cherry tomatos and barbequed them to perfection… i made the potato salad – potatos, egg, peas, red onion, mushrooms, and potato salad dressing. not my most inspired effort – usually there’s some bacon, spring onions, fresh parsley, sometimes i’ll put corn in there… but i remembered the bacon after i had finished and didn’t have any of the other ingrediants at hand…
but it was delicious anyway… and i have some leftovers for work lunch today…

Lost day

Well ive spent the morning with my boy at the doctors. Not so fun – but he’s ok and is now snoring soundly on the couch.
I did what i do best and shower him with affection – and cook him food.
So there’s two soups on the stove – a nigella pea soup (peas, spring onions, lime juice, and top up with just enough water to cover. Boil then once the peas are mushy remove the spring onion and blend!)
And just a vegie soup – which was a good way to use up all the vegies in my fridge… So when he wakes up hopefully he’ll be hungry – he’s not allowed solids for 24 hours so soup should go down a treat.
Im a bit of an italian nonna – i show my love through food… xxoo

Outfit was just the tights and socks i wore to work with a cute pair of grey (cotton on) shorts, with my silversun pickups shirt…
I just loved the red shirt – pink tights combo… Plus its super comfy

Pasta love affair

Well tonight’s fettucine kicks all over last night’s attempt…

Bacon, pancetta, and onions fried in a saucepan, tipped in a can of evaporated milk, some corn flour, and mustard powder. Stirred the stuffing out of it to compensate not mixing the corn flour and milk first. Brought that to boil then added some fresh english spinach and parmesan, then the fettucine.
Gloopy, sticky, stodgy, pasta goodness… Just a day late…

Now to sit down and enjoy my top chef and project runway i taped last night but didnt get a chance to watch…
